HOLY SHIT.

Amazing game. Giants defense was in-fucking-credible, and Eli was just full of awesome. TAKE THAT, HATERS. Fire Eli, my ass. And how adorable was big brother Payton cheering him on? I JUST LOVE THE MANNING BOYS. ::snuggles them::
Oh, and after tonight, I don't think there's any question that the Patriots have NO CLASS. Screw you, Belichick.

I fucking hate the Patriots. GRRR. (But it's okay, the Colts will totally kill them. Again.)
Yay for Green Bay, though! Even though a Manning/Manning Super Bowl would probably make me pee myself in joy, I'd love for Favre to get to the Super Bowl again. (Which is crazy, because years ago, when I was a big 49ers fan, I hated Green Bay...ah, how things change. Well, and Favre has really endeared himself to me, this year.)
I AM SO NERVOUS ABOUT TOMORROW!!!
My brother (and the rest of my family, to a certain extent) is a HUGE Chargers fan. Sadly, tomorrow will end in tears, for someone. When I informed Mom that I would be missing church to watch the game, she lost her mind. Apparently, that's like a violation of three commandments (1, 2, and 4), and all of my protests that "football is not an idol and I'm not worshiping Peyton Manning" were unconvincing. I told her I'd go to an evening service somewhere, which mollified her somewhat, but she's still pretty disgusted with me. But my dad and brothers are going to church (::cough::wimps::cough::), so we'll just tape the game and watch when we come home, and pray that we aren't spoiled beforehand.
OMG I AM TOO HIGHSTRUNG FOR PLAYOFFS.
I really need a football icon.

GIANTS WIN!
OMG, the thought of a Manning vs. Manning Super Bowl...there are no words for how happy that would make me. The joy center of my brain would probably explode.
TAKE THAT, HATERS. ELI MANNING IS MADE OF AWESOME. AND CUTE.

Whee! Living in the San Francisco area, I don't often get the Colts games, so yay! for playing Oakland so I can watch! (Although, OMG, I am not a Raider's fan but this is still humiliating.)
My love for the Colts (or, okay, mostly Peyton Manning) is deep and passionate. I've probably said this before, but the only reason I watch football is because four(ish) years ago, my father grabbed me and said, "Hey, Erin, watch this guy," pointed out Manning on the field, and then proceeded to explain why he is THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NFL. And now I like football for not-Peyton reasons, but I will always love him and the Colts for being the reason I started watching the game in the first place.
Football is one of the few things that I have in common with my father, and we spend more time together as a family during football season than any other time. Which is sad, I know, but it makes a silly game a little more precious to me.
Anyway! I get Peyton right now, and Eli for Sunday Night Football! (Sadly, most of the reason I know or care about Eli is because of all the RPS featuring him and Shockey on
nfl_rps.)
YAY.
EDIT: OMG PEYTON WTF IF THEY LOOSE TO THE FUCKING RAIDERS I WILL KILL MYSELF!!!
EDIT 2: THANK YOU. SHEESH.

Allow me to brag on my kid brother for a minute, okay?
I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but Shane is a phenomenal football player. His nickname at school is "the beast", for real. His number is 64, and his coach says it's because he's 60% human, 40% animal on the field. And no one can really believe it, because he's such a sweet, sensitive kid otherwise. He wants to play in college, but he's way too little (5'7 and 220ish) for college ball with his position (don't ask me what position he plays...he doesn't throw the ball or catch the ball or run, he hits people) *see edit*. So we're praying for 6 inches and 80-100 pounds, but it doesn't seem likely. :( Regardless, he's a great high school player.
On Saturday, they played Marin Catholic, their main rivals. AND KICKED THEIR ASS. (It was kind of personal for Shane, because two years ago in a game against Marin Catholic, he got tackled and tore his ACL, which required surgery and put him out of the game for the rest of the season.) And we opened up the newspaper Sunday morning and there he was! :) If you want to see the picture, click here. Don't know how long it's going to last.
My little brother is ten kinds of awesome, and I'm so proud of him!
Edit: I've just been informed that my brother plays offensive guard and nose tackle. He was quite irritated with me..."I've only been playing for FOUR YEARS."

OMG, the Colts actually have a chance to get in the Superbowl.
Everyone else in my family loves the Chargers, so I was the lone person rooting for the Patriots. Not because I like the Patriots (I don't), but because I know that the Colts don't have a chance in hell of beating the Chargers--especially when the Chargers would be playing at home--but they do have a smidgen of hope at beating the Patriots. There was much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth at my house this afternoon. I think my little bro cried a little. :(
BUT OMG THE COLTS COULD GO ALL THE WAY.
I'm off to do my happy dance.
