RL Drama
I have a job interview in Peoria, IL. It would be a wonderful job, good experience, decent pay, etc. However, I have no transportation. I have 23 days to figure out how to get there. Amtrak doesn't go there, and Greyhound wants to charge me 80 bucks to go someplace 120 miles away, and the return trip would be 18 hours. Not in this lifetime.

Grrr.

Anyone in IL know some form of public transportation that would work? I'm such a n00b.

From what I know, public transportation in the Midwest is a city-by-city thing, and generally it's bus-only. As for Amtrak, you could probably take the train to Chicago, the Greyhound it the rest of the way.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, Amtrak to Chicago is 37$, and Greyhound to Peoria is 80$.

I have to decide how much this interview is worth. Because right now, I'm thinking it's really, really not worth that much money.

I NEED A CAR.

*checks* Actually, from Chicago to Peoria, it'd be $62 before discount (if you're eligible for one) on Greyhound. Not that it's THAT big a difference. Where would you be leaving from?

Maybe it depends on the day, because I checked again, and it's still $79.00, plus the amtrak expense. Thanks for trying, though! I really appreciate it. :)
